The Springfield Spartans came to Spins Bowl Kent and showed why they are state contenders by defeating the Raven boys on the Raven’s home lanes.The Spartans spread the wealth around by shooting three 400+ series and four 200+ games. The Raven boys showed much improvement even though the numbers don’t show. Ravenna had their best baker outing of the season by keeping pace with the Spartans only loosing by 8 pins ( less than a mark difference). The number score this way. Ravenna: Bruce Svoboda 188 game, 335 series and David Kovacic’s 185 and 328. Regular games – 770, 652, total 1422. In baker games – 193, 153, 160, for a set 506 series. 1928 for a total pin count. For the Spartans : Frank Garretson – 197,246, and 443, Tanner Marmash – 213, 206, and 419. Patrick Ambrose – 222, and a 402 series. In regular games: 887, 958, and a 1845 series. Baker games: 143, 171, 200 with a 514 set. 2359 pin count.
The Ravens have the rest of the week with practice on Tuesday and Friday and bowling videos to study on Wednesday. The next match is @ Rootstown on Dec. 12th at Spins Bowl Kent

The Ravenna boys had another day of bad luck at the Panther Challenge at Charger Lanes in Norton. The boys just couldn’t put anything together to put up any kind of fight. Even though they are starting to show glimps of growth. A couple of boys starting to shoot higher numbers and starting to have real fun. Other schools showed what they have by shootingsome very nice sets.Top four scores posted: Kyle Zuchniewicz from Ellit – 716 series, Claymount’s Jimi Basiletti – 681 series, Angelo Biondo’s 680 series and Bryce Oliver’s 676 both from Woodridge. Scoring for Ravenna: Noah Hathaway with a 218 game, Chandler Robertshaw a with a 213 game and high of 545, Austin Fox a 192 game, Nick Sivinski a nice 168. Both Nick and Austin’s new games so for this year. Ravenna’s scoring went as such: 735,858,706 for a 2299 series. And in Baker games: 171, 153, 155, 137, 114 and a 159 for a 6 game set of 889. total pins for the day were 3188.
The next outing for the Ravens will be with Springfield at Spins Bowl Kent on Monday Dec. 4. Start time of 3:30 Pm.

Ravenna Ravens hosted the Springfield Spartons at Spins Bowl Kent today. Unfortunately we came out on the short end of the match. Springfield had a total pin count of 2314 to Ravennas 2098. Leading the Spartons were Carlea Masters with a 2 game series of 438, followed by Kendra Sanner with a 2 game series of 400. Ravenna was led by Tiffany Bolen with a 2 game series of 382, followed by Jordan Nutter with a 2 game series of 342, adding a 2 game series of 309 was Ellie West. Next up for the Ravens will be the Rootstown Rovers on the 12th of Dec.

Ravenna hosted a tri-match on Fri. against Crestwood & Norton at Spins Bowl Kent. Crestwood came out on top followed by Norton then Ravenna. Crestwood had a total pin count of 2042, which was led by Daphney Miller with a 2 game series of 425, followed by Lynzie Jeffery with a 2 game series of 323. Norton had a total pin count of 1978, which was led by Katie Anderson with a 2 game series of 324, followed by Kylie Maklovic with a 2 game series of 306. Ravenna had a total pin count of 1828 which was led by Jordan Nutter with a 2 game series of 400, followed by Tiffany Bolen with a 2 game series of 355. The Ravens are showing improvement in the early part of the season.

The Ravenna Ravens played host to night to the Norton Panthers and the Crestwood Red Devils at Spins Bowl Kent. The Red Devils did their thing by making their strikes and spares needed to take home the top spot. Norton not quite the power house they were last year still made a good showing for second. The Raven boys left a lot of pins on the deck and a few to many gutter balls. Scoring goes as such: Crestwood – 911, 953, games for 1864 series Baker games: 178, 206,142, for a 526. Total: 2390. Norton – 849, 803, games for a 1652 series. In bakers: 252, 193, 188 for a 633 set for a 2285 total. Ravenna – 707,663, games and a 1370 series Bakers 166, 113, 176, for a 455 for total of 1825.
Crestwood: Brady Svab posted a consistant 202, 206, for a 408 series, Dylan Shaffer with a 233 game, Brett Monroe with 213 game and Trevor Matheny with a 212 game.
For Norton: Jayce Norman with a 199 game, Dylan Klepatzik a188 game ,and Josh Boals with a 192 game. For Ravenna Noah Hathaway posted a 182 and Chandler Robertshaw with a 172.
Next the Ravens go to Charger Lanes on Saturday Dec.2 for the Panther Challenge Tournament host by The Norton Panthers.

The Ravena boys struggled against a high powered Springfield Spartans @ Spins Bowl Akron on Wednesday. All the Ravenna boys couldn’t hit a good shot while the Spartans made their shots and made them count. Tanner Marmash for Springfield came up 4 pins shy of perfection with a 296 his second game. He
also ended with a 498 for a 2 game set. Patrick Ambrose also posted a 435 series with all Spartan bowlers with a 353 series and up. Scoring goes as:
Ravenna- 685,611,& 1296 series. Bakers: 149,131,143, & 423 series. For Springfield: 1038,999,&2037.In Bakers218,198,209, for 2037 series.

The Ravenna Boys struggled Spins Bowl Kent as the Rootstown Rovers defeated the Ravens 2297 to 2080.The boys seemed to be having one of those nights where things or they didn”t work. Noah Hathaway did score a nice 268 his first game but didn’t fare so well his second game.Still he recorded a nice 423 series. Also helping the Ravens was Bruce Svaboda with a 186 and 184 games with a 370 Series. Scoring for Rootstown was Drake Mason with good games of 209 and 206 and a series of 415 with help from Josh Flachbart posting games of 189 and 202 for a 391 series. Scoring follows as such: Ravenna 879,747,for 1626 series.Baker games of 152,190,112 for a pin count of 454. For Rootstown:859, 903, for 1762 series and in bakers 175,160, 200 and a 535 series.
Next match for Ravenna will be @ Spins Bowl Akron against the Spring field Spartans on Nov.22.
