In the much-anticipated rematch of the year, the 2 first doubles teams from last years PTC championships faced off once again. Ben Kovacic and Gage Michael traded blows with the Coventry players but in the end, fell in 3 sets. “The matches between these two teams is always a good one, they are two equally matched teams and which every team does a better job controlling the net is going to win that match.” -Coach Pask
Second doubles were able to keep their winning streak alive, as Zack “the attack” Wood was able to cover the entire court, returning shots that once were thought of as impossible. Nick “king of the lob/net/let” Mackle continues to grow into a more unstoppable force in all aspects of his game. Fun fact about Mackle, he leads the PTC in Lets on his serves.
Nick “ball machine” Rainone left us with a cliffhanger of a match. The match was tied 1-1 when it was called. They will finish the third set the next time Coventry comes to town.
Geriko Huth had a good showing as he overcame a rough start in the first set. He was able to bounce back in the second forcing a 3rd set. In the end, he ran out of gas. “I’m excited for the rematch of this one, it was a highly competitive match that could have went either way.” -Coach Pask
