The Ravenna Lady Ravens forced 34 turnovers, creating a big opening quarter lead of 21-8 and keeping their distance from Springfield in their 68-36 victory. The Spartans had the high scorer of the game, Natalie Phillips, notching a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, however, the other seven scorers for Springfield couldn’t tally more than 5 points each. The Ravens had struck with a balanced attack, amounting to 10 players reaching the scoring column, led by Lauren Calhoun’s 14 points. Four Lady Ravens tallied double figures tonight; Freshman Emily Ervin had 13, and both Avery Robinson and Daijah Caples each had 10. Calhoun led the Lady Ravens in rebounds by pulling down 7 of the 33 boards the Ravens had tonight. The Ravens will travel Saturday to Coventry for an early contest, with a tip at 11 a.m., before returning home next Wednesday to take on the two-time defending Portage Trail Conference Metro Division Champions, the Norton Lady Panthers.
